Jesse Klingensmith

Jesse Elbert Klingensmith of Farmington passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2007, at Camelot Nursing & Rehab Center, at the age of 90 years. He was born December 17, 1916 at Elwood, MO, the son of the late Jesse and Bertha (Wolkins) Klingensmith. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Clifford, Tommy, and Sydney Klingensmith, and five sisters, Mary Weihs, Frances Wolfe, Allie Young, Louise Pearce, and Bertha Camp. Mr. Klingensmith was a member of the Farmington Presbyterian Church, Farmington Elks Lodge, and the Lead Belt Saddle Club. During World War II he served his nation in the U.S. Army. He was also a member of the National Guard. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and farming. He is survived by his wife Sue (Berghaus) Klingensmith, two sons, Philip Klingensmith and wife Lynda of Springfield, MO and Jesse Klingersmith Jr., and wife Bonny of Imperial, MO, two daughters, Gail Cole of Farmington and Beth Wall of Farmington, fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2007. Visitation will resume at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday with a funeral service at the Cozean Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Paul Bembower officiating. Burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
