Jesse Eugene Boyer, Sr.

FARMINGTON - Jesse Eugene Boyer, Sr. of Farmington, passed away, Tuesday December 4, 2012 at his residence at the age of 62 years. He was born March 17, 1950 in Washington,County, son of Margaret Mamie Ellen (Smith) Boyer and the late William Joseph Boyer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Reldon Boyer. Jesse was employed as a Retail Parts Manager for John Deere Equipment and worked at various local John Deere retail locations he also retired from the Farmington Correctional Center. He was a member of the Coffman Baptist Church, the Libertyville Masonic Lodge. Jesse was also a a proud and embracing member of the Western Cherokee Nation. He proudly served his country in the Army during Vietnam and continued to serve in the National Guard from where he retired. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him including his wife Linda J. (Adams) Boyer, his mother Margaret Boyer, two sons Jesse E. Boyer, Jr. (Jamie) and David P. Boyer (Stacy), two daughters Joanna L. Ropers (Chris) and Donna S. Boyer, and a special niece Jennifer Boyer, all of Farmington, four brothers William Boyer, Luke Boyer, and Roger Boyer all of Arkansas, and Edward Boyer of Richwoods, eight grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at the Cozean Memorial Chapel on Thursday December, 6, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. with Masonic Rites that evening. A funeral service will be held on Friday in the Cozean Chapel at 1 p.m with the Reverends Tim Reed and Charlie Schrum officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Haney Cemetery at Coffman. Memorials if desired may be made to the St. Labre Indian School Mission.
