Jerry Mcdermott

Jerry McDermott of Farmington passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011, at his residence, at the age of 69 years. He was born on June 7, 1942, at Franklin County, MO, the son of the late Leo C. and Edna B. (Noonan) McDermott. Jerry was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Farmington, MO. Along with his wife Carleen, he owned and operated Plaza Pool and Spa of Farmington, MO, since 1972. In addition to his wife, Carleen (Silvey) McDermott, he is survived by daughter, Cynthia Wiles and son Skip McDermott (Lisa), all of Sullivan, and son, Doug McDermott of Farmington. He is also survived by grandsons, Jesse Wiles (Lacey) and Michael McDermott, and a great-grandson, Albert. Also surviving are a sister, Suzanne Parent of Park Hills, brother- in-law Steve Silvey and his wife Nancy of Cumming, GA. Numerous nieces, nephews, employees, friends and customers also remain. Jerrys family will receive friends at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Monday, August 1, from 5 until 9 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday beginning at 7 until 9am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Rickey Valleroy officiating. Interment will be at the New Calvary Cemetery in Farmington.
