Jerry Allen Whitener

FARMINGTON Jerry Allen Whitener, of Farmington, entered eternal rest on February 25, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 81. He was born on March 25, 1942, in Madison County, Missouri, to Carl and Elsie (Spain) Whitener. Jerry is survived by his wife, Irene (Smith) Whitener, his children, Tim (Sheri) Whitener of Farmington, Monica (Brian) Blackmon of St. Louis, Cindy Thomas of Farmington, and Dale (Dawn) Smith of Kansas City, Kansas, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, along with other family members and many friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Carl (the late Bonnie) Whitener, and his sister, Peggy (the late Tony) Branch. Jerry proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. He was self-employed and owned American Heritage Siding for many years. He played the standup bass in the Cedar Hill Gospel Band and the Gospel Blue Grass Band. He was a gentle, loving man who will be fondly remembered and dearly missed. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Jerry's caregivers at Serenity HospiceCare. A private graveside service will be held at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
