Jeneane Porter

FARMINGTON- Rachel Jeneane Porter of Farmington, passed away, Friday November 23, 2012, at the Southbrook Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center, at the age of 74 years. She was born June 24, 1938 at Bragg City, Missouri, daughter of the late Edith (Bohmer) and Marlin O. Martin Sr. Jeneane was an active member of the Memorial United Methodist Church of Farmington, and formerly a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Viburnum. She was school teacher and worked for many years in the Viburnum public schools as a librarian. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority, a former and founding member of the Viburnum Booster Club, and a past member of the Eastern Star. She was well liked by her students, friends, and neighbors, and will be remembered as being passionate about teaching and in-particular reading. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her including her husband Tom Porter, Sr. of Farmington, four sons, Tom Porter, Jr. of Farmington, Terry Porter and wife Kristi of Paducah, KY, Todd Porter and wife Michele of Williamsville, and Timmeray Porter and wife Donna of Farmington, two sisters, Katherine Sisk and husband Charles of St. Louis, and Dean Wright of Bakersfield, CA, a brother Marlin O. Martin Jr., and wife Alice of Bernie, ten grandchildren, and a host of other relatives, friends and neighbors. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Monday, November 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume Tuesday morning beginning at 7 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with the Reverend Scott Hall officiating. Interment will be in Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Farmington under the direction of Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory.
