Jean Beck

Jean F. Beck passed away on Monday, May 28, 2012, at the age of 85. She was born on October 14, 1926, at Davis Crossing, MO, daughter of the late Marion Dell and Julie Grace (Keay) Freeman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years, Mitchell "Mike" Beck; five sisters, Mazie Williams, Ruby Pearl Triplett, Arlene Henroid, Betty McIntire and Mary Pitts and five brothers, Harold, Thomas, John and Waldo Triplett and Carl Freeman. Jean was a long time resident of the St. Francois County area. She attended the Church of God at Doe Run and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She enjoyed volunteering for Hospice Care for several years. In her spare time Jean enjoyed writing poetry and short stories as well as caring for her beloved dogs. Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn (James) Gaetke of San Antonio, TX; grandson, Tommy Mason; and numerous nieces, nephews and good friends. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Wednesday, May 30 from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume Thursday morning from 7 a.m. until the funeral service beginning at 10 a.m. with the Reverend Darlene Williams officiating.
