Jay C. Mcnew

J. C. McNew of Delassus passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at St. Johns Mercy Medical Center at the age of 90 years. He was born on August 1, 1917, in Doniphan, the son of the late Jacob Charles and Addie (McGuire) McNew. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Roy and James McNew, and by two sisters, Isabel Hillard and Ellen McNight. Mr. McNew was a member of the Farmington Christian Church Disciples of Christ. Before retirement, he had worked for 30 years for Kribs Ford in St. Louis. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine (Klein) McNew, a son, Dennis D. McNew and fiance, Valerie Gravagna, a grandson, David J. McNew and a granddaughter, Karena Beckemeyer, all of Denver, CO. A host of nieces, nephews, Christian friends and his church family also survive. The family will receive friends at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2008. Visitation from 7 to 9 a.m. on Friday. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Christian Church with the Rev. Dale Berck officiating. Burial will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be given to the Farmington Christian Church Memorial Fund.
