Janet Helen Lynch

FARMINGTON - Janet Helen Lynch, age 97, passed away surrounded by her family on May 5, 2024, at Cedarhurst Assisted Living of Farmington, MO. She will be sadly missed and hold a forever place in our hearts. Janet was born August 10, 1926, in St. Louis, MO, to Walter and Helen (Flottmann) Haustein. Janet grew up during the Great Depression and World War II, which she spoke about frequently. She was a 1944 graduate of Cleveland High School. Janet graduated from Brown Business and Secretarial School and attended Washington University for art classes. After graduating from Brown Business and Secretarial School, she worked as a secretary for attorney Fred Whalen. During the late 1940's, Janet moved to Dallas, TX, where she worked for State Farm Insurance Company. Janet later worked at Sears in Crestwood, MO in the catalog department. Janet was married to Carl Edward Lynch on August 27, 1954. They were married for 56 years and were blessed with three children. In her younger days, Janet loved to dance. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, going to the movies, reading, gardening, playing cards, going to the casino, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. Janet and Carl loved to travel - they enjoyed swimming, strolling the beach, and traveled to all 50 states, Europe, South America, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Janet is survived by her daughters, Colleen (Larry) Cruse and Cathy Manczuk (Robert Keith), grandchildren, Erin (Jared) Embry, Jared Manczuk (Jeannie O'Brien), Erika Cruse, and great grandchildren, Macy, Jack, and Cruz Embry, and Helena Manczuk. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl Edward Lynch, her son, Jack Lynch, and her grandson, Jeremy Manczuk. At her request, there will be a private visitation at Cozean Memorial Chapel followed by a family burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
