FARMINGTON- Janet Faye "Jan" Chilton, 72, of rural Farmington passed away Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Parkland Health Center. She was born October 7, 1940 in St. Louis, daughter of the late Alfred and Dorothy (Abney) Mitchell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson, Derek Eaton Jan was a dedicated and talented homemaker, seamstress, cook, and decorator. She particularly loved being surrounded by family and friends. She was married for 53 years to her husband and best friend Michael "Mike" Chilton, who survives. She is also survived by three children: Tamara L. Williams of Farmington, Jeffrey M. (Vickie) Chilton of Farmington and Bryan K.(Paula) Chilton of Lesterville; six grandchildren: Josh Chilton, Jenni Eaton, Katie Chilton, Paige Chilton, Lynzi Chilton, and Logan Chilton, four great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, three brothers, Oliver Mitchell of Bismarck, James Mitchell of Farmington and Charles Mitchell of Park Hills, three sisters, Aleta Kyle of Herculaneum, Wanda Bills of Neosho, and Charlotte Maples of Republic. Numerous other relatives, neighbors, and friends also survive. Visitation for Janet will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Iron Mountain Assembly of God Church with Pastor Matt Prihoda officiating. Memorials, if desired may be made to the Iron Mountain Assembly of God Church. Interment will be at the Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Ironton under the direction of the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory.
