James Tripp

BONNE TERRE James C. Tripp, 77 years, formerly of Bonne Terre, MO , born November 7, 1940, died at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, MO. For the past three years he had been a resident of the Missouri Veterans Home, St. James, MO.

He served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Navy and is a plank owner of the USS Kitty Hawk where he was on its maiden voyage around South America.

Mr. Tripp started Roto Roter Plumbing Service and served the St. Francois County area for many years prior to his retirement.

In 1999, he made his profession of faith and was baptized by Dr. Bob Werner of Concord Baptist Church, St. Louis, MO, along with his brother in law, Burl Chitwood.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, William and Bessie Tripp, his brother, Larry Tripp, and a son, Michael Tripp. He is survived by his son, William Tripp, his sister, Virginia Chitwood, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, one nephew, and an uncle and aunt, plus many cousins.

Friends may call from 12:00 to time of service at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Cozean Memorial Chapel, 217 West Columbia Street, Farmington, MO. Masonic Service will be held at 1:45 p.m. Interment will be at St. Francois Memorial Park, Bonne Terre, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Concord Baptist Church, 13775 Tesson Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63128.
