FARMINGTON - James "Jim" Bloom, of Farmington, passed away peacefully at his residence on February 2, 2025, at the age of 63. He was born on October 15, 1961, in St. Charles, Missouri, to the late Benton and Ruby (Head) Bloom. Jim was the beloved husband of Carolyn Bloom, with whom he shared 32 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Jim is survived by his wife, Carolyn Bloom; his four children, Cheryl (Chris) Guthrie, Corrie Canterberry, Sarah (Donald) Vaughn, and Andrew (Michelle) Bloom; his twelve grandchildren, Myranda, Madilyn, Kaylee, Nate, Colton, Landen, Ruby, Benton, Levi, Nick, McKenzie, and Logan; his great grandson, Tucker James; his sister, Cathy (Terry) Hawn; and his brothers, Doug (Terri) Bloom and Ben (Pam) Bloom. He is also survived by several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and special friends.
Jim graduated from Farmington High School in 1980. In his spare time, he took great pleasure in woodworking, camping, and fishing, as well as engaging wholeheartedly with his grandchildren as they played various sports. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, his legacy of kindness and love will continue to resonate among those he cherished.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. officiated by Pastor Mike Haggerty. Jim will be laid to rest at Brown Cemetery in Black, Missouri. Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
