James Gregory "Jim" Redmond

James Gregory "Jim" Redmond of Farmington passed away on Friday, December 23, 2011, at the age of 59 years. He was born on September 8, 1952, at Farmington, son of the late Louis and Sybil Z. (Simmons) Redmond. A life long resident of Farmington, Jim graduated from Farmington High School in 1971. After graduation he proudly served his country in the U. S. Army stationed in Fort Gordon, Georgia. After coming back to the area he was employed as a letter carrier for many years before his retirement in 2007. He was a faithful member of the Farmington First Free Will Baptist Church. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening but more than anything he loved spending time with his beloved grandchildren. James is survived by his wife of 38 years, Rebecca (Loughrige) Redmond; two children, Philip James Redmond and wife Tabitha of Metterich, Germany and Holly (Mrs. Deun) Gaugel of Desloge; five grandchildren, Seth Redmond Currington, Emma Grace Gaugel, Isaac Shane Gaugel, Leah Ruth Redmond and Lukas Philip Redmond; sisters, Louise (Mrs. Eddie) Smith, Lois Whelehon, Shirley (Mrs. Eddie) Hair and Nancy (Mrs. Butch) Spray; and brothers, John Redmond and wife Connie and Mickey Redmond and wife Cathy; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Monday, December 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume Tuesday from 7 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with the Reverend Roger Hogan officiating.
