FARMINGTON James "Jim" Ernest "Fatso" Finnegan, of Farmington, passed away on March 11, 2024, at Parkland Health Center after a long courageous fight with cancer at the age of 67. Jim is survived by his mother, Adelaide (Doyle) Finnegan; his son, Brennan Finnegan; his sister, Patricia Pratte; his brother, John Finnegan; and his girlfriend, Vicky Salinas. He was preceded in death by his father, Leo John Finnegan; and his brother, Terry Finnegan. Jim was a kind and generous man, who throughout his life, was known (far and wide) for inserting an authentic love of life, joyful spirit, and positive attitude into most any situation. A natural and creative entertainer, he could add humor and elevate most situations to a new level - oftentimes with extraordinary acts of strength, such as hanging from his toes, balancing upside down on one hand, as pictured above. He was a loyal and devoted friend and was proud of the fact his annual fourth of July parties would always attract over 200 friends - and create lasting and legendary memories. Jim loved music and spent countless hours playing piano and guitar. During his life, Jim wrote a full "album" of original songs. He was a highly reputed steel contractor, and a remarkably persuasive and successful salesman. After a successful career in Corpus Christi, Texas, Jim devoted his later years "at home" in Farmington, MO., taking care of those dear to him. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of his life will be at his home, Saturday, March 16, 2024, starting at 2 p.m. If you need the address, call his cell phone, or reach out to those who knew him.
