FARMINGTON James Calvin Sales of Farmington passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Presbyterian Manor at the age of 88 years. He was born on May 1, 1927 at Esther son of the late Michael and Naomi (Loughary) Sales. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Melvin Sales, three sisters, Mary Robinson, Faye Schrum, and May Murray, and a grandson, Timmy Randick.
James proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theater. He was the Fire & Safety Supervisor at Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center from where he retired. He was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church, VFW Post #5896, Farmington Elks Lodge #1765, and of the former Hunt-Herwig Knights of Pythias Lodge of Farmington through which he served as Grand Chancellor of the Knights of Pythias of Missouri at one time.
He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him including his wife, Allaene (Jones) Sales of Farmington, children, Linda (& Steven) Groat, Judy Sheets, Alan (& Sandy) Sales, James (& Robin) Sales, and David Sales all of Farmington; seven grandchildren, Laura (& Ron) Pucci of Conroe, Texas, Melinda (& Karl) Liang of Birmingham, Michigan, Wayne (& Alison) Sheets of Farmington, Jay (& Julie) Sheets of Farmington, Dustin (& Nicky) Sales of Farmington, Ryan Sales of Farmington, and Katie Sales of Farmington; nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; a brother John (& Millie) Sales of Greenville, Illinois, two sisters Bernice Green and Naomi Hammond both of Fredericktown. He is also survived by other relatives, many dear friends, and neighbors.
Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Monday, January 25, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. An Elks Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m followed by a VFW Memorial service at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday at 7 a.m. at the Cozean Chapel and continue until the time of the Funeral Service at 10 a.m. with the Reverend Bob Webb officiating. Following the Funeral the procession will be led to the Knights of Pythias Cemetery by the Patriot Guard for the interment service with full military honors. Memorials, if desired may be made to either Senior Independence Hospice or to Camp Hope. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory.
