Jacob "Jake" Allen Blum of Ste. Genevieve passed away on Monday, February 28, 2011, at the age of 17 years, 8 months, and 18 days. He was born on June 10, 1993, in St. Louis, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his sister, Natashia Blum; his grandfather, Jerry G. Nicholson and his grandmother, Shirley Ann Crabdree. Jake was a recent graduate of Farmington High School. He loved to hunt and fish along with spending time with his friends. He also was an avid "gamer" and enjoyed listening to music. He was looking forward to volunteering for Habitat for Humanity while awaiting his 18th birthday when he had plans to join the military. Most will remember Jake for his great sense of humor. Survivors include his parents, Terri (Nicholson) and Rick Crabdree, Jr. of Ste. Genevieve; his sister, Sarah Blum; grandfather, Rick Crabdree, Sr. and his wife Vicky; grandmother, Nina Blum; grandfather, Roger Blum, Sr.; grandmother, Harriett Nicholson; a special uncle and aunt, Mike and Janet Nicholson; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 11 a.m. to 2 p m. on Saturday, March 5. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Pastor Fred Killion officiating. Interment will be at Pendelton Baptist Church Cemetery in Doe Run. Memorials may be made to the family to help defray costs of the service.
