Jackie Ray Wampler Sr.

Jackie Ray Wampler Sr. of Farmington passed away July 5, 2011 at the age of 71 years. He was born on March 2, 1940, at Esther, son of the late Frederick Thomas and Edith Mae (Hawthorne) Wampler. He was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, three brothers, Paul Wampler, Donald Lee Wampler and Jimmie Dale Wampler, and two sisters, Marjorie Stagner and Ruth Arnett. Mr. Wampler proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force, and retired from McDonald Douglas-Boeing Aviation. He was also a member of the Pendleton Masonic Lodge AF & AM 551. He is survived by his wife, Viriginia (Pittman) Wampler, two sons, Jackie Wampler Jr. of Farmington, and Daryl Wampler of Rosebud, two daughters, Wanda Johnson and Sandy Wampler, both of Farmington, 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Ancil Wampler and Dannie Wampler, three sisters, Bonnie Todd, Dorothy Dillard and Alma Mathews, numerous other relatives and friends. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 11 a.m to Noon on Friday, July 8, 2011. A funeral service with Military Honors will follow at Noon with the Rev. Tommy Dillard officiating.
