Iretta Spencer, of Farmington, passed away peacefully in her home, on November 25, 2006, with family at her side, at the age of 86 years. She was born on September 10, 1920, in Wichita, Kansas. She is the daughter of the late Clarence and Elizabeth (Robinson) Hunter. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, six brothers, one infant granddaughter, and two loving husbands, Thomas Spencer and David Baird. . Iretta will be dearly missed by her five daughters, Mrs. Mitzie Detjen, and husband Bill, Ms. Mary Louise Voertmann, Mrs Jeannie Roberts, and husband Clinton, all of Farmington, Mrs. Cheryl Smock, and husband Pat, of Hollister, MO, and Mrs. Claudia McCracken, and husband Jack, of Columbus, IN. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Louise Rogers, of Londell,MO, nineteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grand children, and one great-great grandson, with many nieces, nephews and friends also surviving. Iretta was devoted to her family, church and community. Her family and friends were always welcome in her home, where there was always room at the table for one more. She was a devoted member of the First Free Will Baptist Church and the Farmington Christian Church. She loved singing the praises of the Lord, and sharing her love of music with her family and friends. Iretta was a member of the First Baptist Church Choir for many years. She was a loyal employee of Medical Arts Clinic, for nearly forty years, helping people and making lifetime friends. She also had many rolls as a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and most of all, a friend. . Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2006. Visitation will resume at 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. A funeral service will follow at the Farmington Christian Church at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dale Berck and Pastor Roger Hogan officiating. Burial will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens.
