FARMINGTON - Irene Joy Brown, of Farmington, entered into eternal rest on December 16, 2023, at Parkland Health Center at the age of 91. She was born on December 13, 1932, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to the late George and Rena (Hillis) Sinks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald M. Brown, her sister, Georgia Brown, and her daughters-in-law, Janet Humphrey and Evelyn Bay. Irene formerly worked as a nurses aide in the healthcare field. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Eastern Star. She enjoyed jigsaw and crossword puzzles and making jewelry. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her sons, Scott (Linda) Burcham of St. Louis, Missouri, Gregory Humprey of Picture Rocks, Arizona, and James Bay of Farmington, Missouri, her grandchildren, Erica (Gary) Kennon and Joshua (Alicia Jones) Bay, and her special friend and caretaker of 20 years, Rose Jenkins. A celebration of Irenes life will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel.
