Irene Emilie Eck

FARMINGTON Irene Emilie Eck of Farmington passed away at Mercy Jefferson in Festus on July 17, 2017 at the age of 83. She was born December 31, 1933 in Ironton to the late John Joseph and Irene Margaret (Kovachich) Eck.

Irene graduated from Farmington High School in 1951 and later worked as a secretary for a number of years. She was a favorite aunt and caregiver to many nieces and nephews who she enjoyed spending time with and doting over. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and through the years became an accomplished seamstress. She had been a life long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include a sister, Wilma (Don) McGuire; two brothers, John (Nancy) Eck and Walter (Sharon) Eck; numerous beloved nieces and nephews; a special cousin, Marion Kozak and many cousins and extended family and friends.

Friends and family may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Thursday, July 20 from 5 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday morning beginning at 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. in the funeral home. A mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with Father Schneider as celebrant. Interment will be held at New Calvary Cemetery.
