Hilda Benham of Farmington passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at Presbyterian Manor, at the age of 95 years, 2 months, and 10 days. She was born September 14, 1914, at Bonne Terre, MO, the daughter of the late John H. and Mayme Rose (Arenz) Benham. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Francis Lee Benham. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Park Hills and a former member of the Business and Professional Womens' Club in Park Hills. For many years Hilda worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Fayette Norwine, DDS of Park Hills. Together they ended their careers as instructors in the Dental Department of Mineral Area College. After her retirement she enjoyed trips to the lake with her brother where she liked to relax in the outdoors and fish. She also enjoyed wintering in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for many years. Survivors include 2 special cousins, Selma Usina and Ruth Hunt as well as several other cousins; special friends, Margaret Norton and Maxine Cole and a host of many good friends. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Saturday, November 28 from 12 noon until the beginning of the service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Robert Eggers, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre. Memorials may be made to the Presbyterian Manor of Farmington. Photo and online condolences may be shared at cozean.biz.
