Hershel Leroy Robinson

February 17, 1932 — July 6, 2017

FARMINGTON Hershel Leroy Robinson of Farmington was born on February 17, 1932 at Cantwell the son of the late Joseph Franklin and Anna Elizabeth (Burns) Robinson and departed this life on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at his home at the age of 85 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers; Leslie Robinson, Doyle Robinson, and Melvin Robinson.

He is survived by his loving his wife of 64 years, Martha Lucinda (Kernan) Robinson, four daughters, Brenda Robinson of Farmington, Carol (& Bill) Guitar of Farmington, Marsha (& Mike) Dodd of Imperial, and Sherry (& Myles) Sweeney of Troy, six grandchildren; Tony (& Mary) Guitar, Jennifer Guitar, Teresa (& Chris) Rhodes, Tanya (& Bobby) Schuetz, Brittany (& Kevin) Hutson, and Craig Darwin; eight great-grandchildren, Nathan Guitar, Aiden Pogue, Allison Guitar, Grace & Addison Rhodes, Jayden & Leroy Schuetz, and Max Dodd; a brother Robert (& Mary) Robinson of Farmington, and sister-in-law Anna Lee Robinson of Festus, and numerous other relatives, dear friends, and neighbors.

Hershel was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Nothing pleased him more than to spend time with his family. He proudly served our country in the Air Force spending most of that time in Germany. In 2000 he retired from the General Motors plant in Wentzville. He was a member of the Desloge First Church of God where he enjoyed using his skills as an electrician and carpenter. In his spare time he enjoyed tinkering with things around the house.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017 at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory. Visitation will resume on Tuesday at 7 a.m. and continue until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with the Reverend Jim Muse officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America.
