Herbert M. Wampler

Herbert M. Wampler of Desloge passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at his residence at the age of 68 years. He was born April 17, 1939, at Bixby, MO, the son of the late William Andrew and Bessie May (Abney) Wampler. He was also preceded in death by a son, Tyler Wampler, four brothers, Marvin, Jack, Earl and Tony Wampler and two sisters, Alice Horn and infant sister, Mary. Before retirement, Mr. Wampler worked for the J. S. Alberici Construction Co. of St. Louis. He was a member of the Iron Workers Local #518 Union. Mr. Wampler was a member and served as a deacon of the Solid Rock Gospel Church of Desloge. He is survived by Joyce and children, Debra Clouse (Ed), Mona Penberthy (Bruce), Dean Wampler (Renee), Brian Wampler (Addie), Kenny Bell (Brandi), all of Farmington, Kevin Bell (Linda) of Park Hills and Scott Bell (Andrea) of the State of Iowa, brother, Harry Butch Wampler of Park Hills, sisters, Barbara Williford (Eddie) and Wilma LaBrot (Larry), both of Park Hills, Betty Phelps (Frank) of Ste. Genevieve and Shirley Vishino of Farmington, fifteen grandchildren, Bob, Mike, Melissa, Misty, Brian, Ashley, Chris, Chelsea, Haliegh, Olivia, Megan, Madyson, Blake, Kenny and Keisha, five great-grandchildren, Re Shea, Skyler, Erika, Jacob and Taylor, and his special dog, Tippy. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. The family will receive friends at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2008. Visitation will resume at 7 a.m. on Tuesday. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Bates officiating assisted by Dave Wideman. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to HospiceCare, Inc. or to the family.
