FARMINGTON- Henry Bryan Stamm, Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, was Baptized into the Hope of Christ's Ressururection on Sunday, April 29, 2012, at his residence, at the age of 89 years. He was born Christmas Day 1922, at Farmington, son of the late Bryan and Genevieve (Carron) Stamm. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Bradley Stamm. Henry worked as a rotary drill operator and a blaster for 16 years at the St. Joe Lead Mines prior to its closing. He then embarked on a brick laying career working for several construction companies, the longest time being for his father-in-law's company, Doorack Construction, up until his retirement at age 63. He was married to Gladys L. Doorack on June 3, 1944 in St. Peter's Church at Kirkwood, and their union was blessed with eight children. Henry was a long-time member of the Brick Layer's Union local #1 of St. Louis, a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Farmington, and had at one time been an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1088. Henry will be missed by all those who knew and loved him, including his wife of nearly 68 years, Gladys L. (Doorack) Stamm of Farmington, eight children, Nancy and husband John Hunt of Farmington, Betty and husband Loren Peer of Los Angeles, CA, Daniel Stamm of St. Louis, Timothy Stamm and Lucy Miller of Farmington, Bradley Stamm of Seguine, TX, Jayne and husband Robert Pothetos of Farmington, Melissa and husband Jonathan Losos of St. Louis, and Patricia and husband George Ryan of Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Ruth Cauley of Cahokia, IL and Opal Blevins of St. Louis; eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and dear friends. The family will receive friends at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m. with a Parish Rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday at the Cozean Chapel at 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Farmington, with Father James Dyer celebrating. Interment will follow at the New Calvary Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic School, or offerings for Masses.
