Henry Andrew Hull

Henry Andrew Hull of Farmington passed away on September 25, 2007, at the age of 84 years. He was born on February 15, 1923, at Caledonia, the son of the late Henry Houston and Mildred Tally Hull. Henry was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Farmington and was a lifetime member of VFW Post #5896. He was a loving husband, wonderful father, and an amazing grandfather. He was a man of strong character who valued and loved his family very much. This is a gift which the family will always cherish. In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by three brothers, Vernon, Edward and Walter Hull, and two sisters, Lena Montgomery and Rosalie Moser. Henry proudly served his country in the United States Navy in World War II. He was a true patriot and very proud of his country. This love, respect, and loyalty for his country was passed along to all his children and grandchildren. He retired from Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center in March 1985. He was an avid hunter who also enjoyed gardening, and most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren. His family loved him devotedly and will miss him with all their hearts. That includes his loving wife of 53 years, Mary Ella (Effan) Hull, one son, Harry Hull and wife, Terri, three daughters, Catherine (Mrs. Jack) Jarvis, Caren (Mrs. Greg) Mell, and Claudia Kay (Mrs. Robert) Thurman. Henry loved his grandchildren very much and cherished his time with them. His seven grandchildren include, Scott Hull and wife Jayme, Julie (Mrs. Richard) Howell, Shana (Mrs. Chris) Turner, Jennifer (Mrs. Adam) Schweiss, Andrew Mell, Natalie Banister and fiance, Marc Mucci, and Catherine Mell. Henry also had three great-grandchildren, Carson, Madyson and Allyson Hull, and was expecting his fourth great-grandchild in early April. Additional family members include his two brothers, Stanley Hull and wife Betty, and Cordell Hull, three sisters, Ruby Jones, Shirley (Mrs. Norman) Jackson, and Darlene (Mrs. Jerry) Barnhouse, and one sister-in-law, Joan (Mrs. Marvin) Hickman. Many cherished nieces, nephews, neighbors, friends and other relatives also survive who will miss Henry. Henry will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 4 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2007, with a VFW Service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. James King officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens.
