Helen Margaret Elders

FARMINGTON Helen Margaret Elders of Farmington passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Parkland Health Center at the age of 89 years. She was born on March 2, 1926 at Flat River daughter of the late John Thomas and Mamie Frances (Miller) Sales. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lindell M. Elders (2008), a son Larry Wayne Elders and seven brothers: Bill Sales, Frank Sales, George Sales, Roy Sales, Louie Sales, Luke Sales and Pete Sales.

Helen was a long-time and faithful member of the Farmington First Assembly of God Church where she served in the Women's Ministry, and as a Nursing Home Sunday School Teacher for many years. For many years she worked for the Trimfoot Shoe Company, from where she later retired, but was also a proud homemaker and enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, and creating beautiful quilts for her family and friends.

She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her, including her two surviving children; Diana (& James) Dawson of Farmington and Rich (& Pam) Elders of Farmington, four grandchildren; Darrell Miller of Festus, Dana Miller of Farmington, Justin (& Lisa) Elders of Arnold, and Brian (& Stephanie) Elders of Farmington, four great-grandchildren; Darren Coleman, Tessa Coleman, Owen Elders, and Peyton Elders. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 14, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory. Visitation will resume on Tuesday at the Farmington First Assembly of God Church at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Farmington First Assembly of God Church.
