Helen Lancaster of Farmington passed away on Monday, July 13, 2009, at the age of 85 years, 3 months, and 16 days. She was born March 27, 1924, at Ste. Genevieve, MO, daughter of the late George and Maud (Hopkins) Covington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers. She was a member of the Prison Fellowship Organization, and was a very involved member of the First Assembly of God of Farmington and was an active supporter of On Eagle's Wings, Inc. missionary group. She was regarded as a great cook and was an avid gardener and flower lover, but her greatest love was spending time with her family. Until her retirement, she worked as a cook for several nursing homes and restaurants. She is survived by her sons, Ernest Dale Lancaster of Farmington, David Wayne and wife Anna Lancaster of Wichita Falls, TX, granddaughter, Lisa M. Hooker of Park Hills, grandson, Mike D. Lancaster of Farmington, grandson, Chris A. Lancaster and granddaughter, Shelly R. Fischer both of Columbus, OH. Also surviving are 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a host of other friends and family members. Friends may call Thursday, July 16 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Cozean Memorial Chapel. Visitation will resume on Friday from 7 a.m. to Noon at Cozean Memorial Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church of Farmington with the Rev. Hugh Cerutti officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens.
