Harvell Phillips

October 23, 1937 — November 3, 2015

FARMINGTON- Harvell Phillips, 78 of Farmington, formerly of Wardell, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on October 23, 1937 at Wardell son of the late Harvey William and Bertha Lee (Brown) Phillips. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five sisters: Ora Burgess, Mattie Crafton, Velma Harris, Dorcie Arnold, and Patricia Roberts and by a brother William "Buddy" Phillips. Harvell attended the Primitive Baptist Church of Memphis, TN and previously First Baptist Church of Wardell. Before retirement he was employed by the Missouri Department of Transportation as a road maintenance worker. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening and caring for his yard. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him including his wife Betty Sue (Curtis) Phillips of Farmington, children Johnny (& Brenda) Gotcher of Clarksville, TN and Donna (& Thomas) Bailey of Farmington, grandchildren Jonathon Gotcher and Jenica (& Christian) Villa both of Clarksville, TN, Joshua Bailey and Breanna Bailey both of Farmington, one great-granddaughter Zella Villa of Clarksville, a twin brother Arvell (& Linda) Phillips of Poplar Bluff, a sister Virginia Willoughby of Hartford, MI and numerous other relatives, dear friends and neighbors. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Wardell, Missouri. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. in the church with Brother Grady Camp officiating assisted by Brother Griff Walker. Interment will be in the Wardell Memorial Cemetery at Wardell. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society or to any Church of the Donor's choosing. Arrangements are under the direction of Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory.
