FARMINGTON - Harry Edwin Ratcliff passed away on Monday, April 30, 2012, at Parkland Health Center, at the age of 80 years. He was born on October 24, 1931, at Mine La Motte, son of the late Opal E. (Mayberry) and George L. Ratcliff. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Alma (Woods) Ratcliff, a son, Dominque C. "Charlie" Ratcliff, eight brothers, James, George Jr., Paul Ray, Leroy, John, Charles "Chuck", Juel Firman and Melvin "Red", and three sisters, Dorothy Beard, Ruby Lietz and Mary Thomure. Mr. Ratcliff proudly served his country for 13 years with the United States Army, including the Korean War. He had attended the Church of Christ in Park Hills. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him including his five children, Phillip Menjoulet (Penny), Norman Ratcliff (Brenda) and Harry Ratcliff Jr. (Tammy), all of Farmington, Patrick Ratcliff of El Paso, TX, and Anita Schnurbusch of Festus, eighteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two special nieces who were his caregivers, Paula and Mindy, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, and his ex-wife, Josette. The family will receive friends at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2012. A VFW Service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday. Visitation will resume at 7 a.m. on Friday with a funeral service at 10 a.m. with Minister Bernie Crum officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be at Christian Cemetery in Fredericktown.
