Harold Weldon Pritchett of Farmington passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2012, at the age of 89. He was born on February 7, 1923, at St. Louis, son of the late Thomas Walter Pritchett and Evia Rachel (Hanson) Barton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Harold Wm. Pritchett and Kevin Wayne Pritchett; one grand-daughter, Erin Celeste Pritchett; five brothers and three sisters. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Omar Barton who was like a father to Harold. Harold grew up in Elvins where he went to school. At an early age the free spirited Harold traveled the country hitch-hiking and riding the rails. After he returned from his travels he joined the military and proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. After being honorably discharged from the military he went to work for GM - Body by Fisher. He worked there for many years before retiring. In his retirement he was an avid hunter, fisherman and traveler. He spent lots of quality time with his grandchildren and spun many tales with them. Harold is survived by his daughter, Paula Allen and husband, Mark of Farmington, son, James Walter Pritchett and wife, Pat of Maynard, AR and son, Charles Pritchett of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren, Kim Bland, Lacey Pritchett, Brian Nolan, Hannah Allen, Andy Pritchett and Emily Pritchett; five great-grandchildren, Blake Nephew, Jace Bland, Kennedy Nolan, Hadleigh Nolan and Katarina Allen; one half-brother, Gary Dean Barton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Sunday, November 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday morning beginning at 7 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery in Farmington.
