Harold J. Callahan

June 25, 1917 — March 12, 2014

Harold J. Callahan of Park Hills passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the age of 96 years. He was born on June 25, 1917, at Esther, son of the late J.T. Callahan and Rosa (Neff) Callahan. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Callahan in 2010. Harold grew up in the Esther area and went on to proudly serve his country in in the U. S. Army during WWII. He worked as a mechanic for St. Joe Lead Company for many years. After his retirement from St. Joe he enjoyed camping and playing with his dogs. Survivors include his special friend, who was like a son, Tom (Pam) Hale of the state of Oklahoma; and his good friend, James McMillen of Farmington. Many other extended Crabdree and Govro family and friends also survive. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Monday, March 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday morning beginning at 7 a.m. until the time of the service in the Cozean Chapel at 10 a.m. Interment will be at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre.
