Gwendolyn Ann Henson

FARMINGTON Gwendolyn Ann Henson, of Farmington passed away July 19, 2016 at Community Manor Nursing Facility at the age of 80 years. She was born in Windsor, England on January 10, 1936, daughter of the late Cyril Gordon and Dorothy (Best) Evans. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Evans and three sisters, Daphne Beavis, Dorothy Rainer and Barbara Fox.

Gwen came to the United States in April of 1953 and became a U. S. Citizen in 1966. On January 21, 1956 in St. Louis, Gwendolyn was united in marriage to Troy Henson and to this union one son and one daughter were born. She started her Christian Walk at Black River Baptist Church in Black, Missouri. She loved to tell others about her Savior, Jesus Christ and was an inspiration to many. She became an LPN in 1987 and loved helping others. In her spare time, Gwendolyn enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, playing scrabble and camping.

Survivors include her husband, Troy of Farmington, a son, Ronald Lee "Doc" Henson of Lesterville; a daughter, Kathryn Weinhold and husband, William, of Oak Ridge; two granddaughters, Annette Henson and spouse, Molly Milligan of Raleigh, North Carolina and Amy Horman of Farmington; three great-granddaughters, Michelle Dollins, Carissa Dollins and Brittany Horman; two brothers, David Evans of England, Chris Evans of Germany and one sister, Brenda Lickley of England. Gwen will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Saturday, July 23, 2016 from 9 to 11 a.m. with funeral services beginning at 11 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel.
