Gregory Ribbing

July 22, 1957 — December 27, 2014

Gregory "Greg" Ribbing, of Fredericktown, passed away December 27, 2014 at the age of 57. He was born in East St. Louis, Missouri on July 22, 1957 to the late Alvin and Margaret Ribbing. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his aunt and uncle who raised him and were like parents to him, Elizabeth and Norman Boyd. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Jim Ribbing, a grandson, Brandon Camden, and his mother and father-in-law, Frank and Marie Jennings. Greg graduated from Farmington High School in 1975 and went on to have a long career with Union Pacific Railroad. He was an assistant hoisting engineer with the railroad until his retirement. When Greg was not working, he enjoyed softball. He played with many local teams throughout the years, primarily as a pitcher. He also enjoyed hunting and spending time with his beloved grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Carol (Jennings) Ribbing; three children, Brandi Camden and husband, Robert, Cameron Ribbing and Amy Fandrick and husband, Wade; eight grandchildren; nine brothers and three sisters; and a host of extended family also survive. Services for Mr. Ribbing will be held at a later date. Services have been entrusted to Cozean Memorial Chapel.
