Glenda Ruth Hahn

September 11, 1927 — June 19, 2013

Glenda Ruth Hahn of Farmington, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at the age of 85. She was born on September 11, 1927, at Mine La Motte, daughter of the late Tony Elbert and Gladys Jewell (Corcoran) Elders. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Z. Hahn in 2001; her son-in-law, William R. Reed in 1993; an infant sister, Dorothy Mae Elders; a sister, Mary Lou Hunt and her husband, John Hunt; her brother-in-law, Alvin G. Hahn; a niece, Patty Francis and a great nephew, Christopher Parker. Glenda was a life long resident of the St. Francois County area, having worked at Trimfoot and Banta's Appliance Store for a time. Most of her adult life she enjoyed being a homemaker and a mother. Glenda was a charter member of the Farmington Assembly of God Church where she had been a Sunday School teacher. Music was a big part of her life and she enjoyed playing guitar, piano and organ. Her family will remember her wonderful home cooked meals. Over the years, she and her husband, Ira, enjoyed camping, fishing and gardening. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Reed; a grandson, David R. Reed and wife, Camille, all of Farmington; three sisters, Norma Upchurch, Ella Francis and husband, Lee Lamar, of Farmington, and Charlotte Tidwell of St. Louis; and one brother, Ray Elders and wife, Sharon, of Farmington. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume from 7 a.m. Saturday morning until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Dwight Jones officiating. Interment will be at Revelle Cemetery in Cherokee Pass. Memorials may be made to the Harvest Christian Centre.
