Glenda Jean Arant

Glenda Jean Arant, of Farmington, formerly of Martin, Tennessee, passed away August 7, 2018 at Southbrook Skilled Nursing and Rehab, at the age of 74. She was born January 24, 1944 in Martin, Tennessee to the late Kenneth Hastings and Irene (Boaz) Hastings. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Jay Arant in 2011; a son, Jayton Scott Arant in 2011; and two brothers, Bobby Lynn Hastings and Van Ray Hastings. Glenda graduated from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee with a Bachelors Degree in Education. She began teaching school in 1966 and was married on June 10, 1967 to Ronald Jay Arant. She was a lifetime member of McConnell Baptist Church in Martin. An avid reader, Glenda enjoyed making creative greeting cards to send to friends and relatives. Survivors include a son, Shannon (Ginger) Arant, grandchildren, Justin Ragonnet, Caleb and Jacob Arant, Jessica (Lee) Chandler and Brandon Arant; great grandchildren, Wade and Wyatt Chandler and a sister, Avonda Fabian. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018 at McConnell Baptist Church from 12 noon until the time of the funeral beginning at 1 p.m. with Brother Mark Dowdy and Brother Gordon Wilbanks officiating.
