Glenda Hammers

Glenda Marlene Hall Hammers of Farmington passed away on Friday, May 4, 2007, at Community Manor at the age of 75 years. She was born on January 8, 1932, at Elvins, the daughter of the late Arch Thomas and Lucy (Sweeney) Hall. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eugene, two sons, Ronnie and Randy Hammers, four brothers, Archie, Leon, Lavern, and Ray Hall, and three sisters, Sylvia Davis, Lillian Pounds, and Eva Moore. Mrs. Hammers was a life-time resident of Farmington and a member of the First Assembly of God. After retiring from the Trimfoot Shoe Factory, she owned and operated a restaurant and boarding home in Farmington for a number of years. She enjoyed growing flowers and was an avid baker. Caring for the elderly was another favored activity. She is survived by two sisters, Betty Webb of Farmington and Jean Lee of Elvins, special nephews, David Pounds of Farmington and Archie Jaycox and wife Phyllis of Hillsboro, a sister-in-law, Janet Lawson of Desloge, and close friends Lee and Maxine Shumake of Farmington. Other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends also survive. Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel from 3:30 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2007. Visitation will resume Monday at 7:30 a.m. Funeral services will follow at the Cozean Chapel at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Joseph Kochis and the Rev. Hugh Cerutti officiating. Burial will follow at the Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Donors Choice.
