Glen Nice

December 31, 1944 — December 8, 2015

Glen Michael Nice of Farmington and formerly of St. Louis County, passed away December 8, 2015 at Mercy Hospital at the age of 70. He was born in Dayton Ohio on December 31, 1944 to the late Edward and Joann (Delinski) Nice. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Karl and Paul and a sister, Pauline.

Glen grew up during his early years in Ohio and the family moved to Orlando, Florida where he graduated from high school in 1963. Soon after graduation Glen enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his country as an aerial photographer. He was employed for twenty four years as General Manager and President of Allen/Austin Transmission Repair in the St. Louis area. After his retirement in 2005 he and his wife, Mary, moved to the Farmington area. Glen enjoyed golfing, cooking and vegetable gardening. He was famous with his grandchildren for making muffins for them.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Mary (Tenholder) Nice; his children, Michael (Peggy) Nice of Houston, TX, Debbie (Michael) Redd of St. Louis County, Joseph (Cathy) Weindel of Minneapolis, MN, Jennifer Wright of Festus, MO, Edward (Karen) Nice of Fenton, MO and Katie (Brian) Wipke of Lexington, MA; twelve grandchildren; a brother Earl (Marilyn) Nice of Fenton, MO; a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will be held at Cozean Memorial Chapel in Farmington, MO on Friday, December 11, from 5 8 p.m. Visitation will resume in Oakville, MO on Saturday, December 12, beginning at 9:30 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial at Queen of All Saints Church in Oakville at 11 a.m. with Father Fonseca as celebrant. Interment will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on Monday, December 14 at 10:30 a.m. with military honors. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Farmington Elks Lodge, Scholarship Fund or to St. Louis Area Council of Boy Scouts of America.
