Geraldine "Gerrie" Ikemeier

Geraldine M. "Gerrie" Ikemeier of Farmington passed away on Monday, June 6, 2011, at her residence, at the age of 79 years. She was born on April 18, 1932, in St. Louis, daughter of the late Gertrude (Grimm) and George Kohlberg. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Ikemeier, a daughter, Charlotte Ikemeier, a sister, Marianne Kohlberg, a brother, Christian Kohlberg, and a special friend, Bernie Hoevelkamp. Gerrie was a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church of south St. Louis, but attended St. Joseph Catholic Church for many years. She was a member of the Farmington VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Gerrie and daughter Mari owned and operated Ike's Roadside Garden and Greenhouse from 1970 to 1984 and then opened Ike's Country Bouquet Florist. Gerrie worked in the florist shop until her health declined, leaving her daughter Mari to continue the tradition with Ike's Florist. Gerrie will be missed by all those who knew and loved her, including son, Mark Kipper (Kathy) of St. Louis, son, Richard Ikemeier (Carina) of Fredericktown, daughter, Joanne Robertson (Scott) of Louisville, KY, son, Edward Ikemeier (Paulette) of Farmington, daughter, Marianne Stout (Kendall), son, David Ikemeier (Lisa) of Farmington, son, Kenneth Ikemeier (Lori) of Fredericktown, brother, Adrian Kohlberg of St. Mary, thirteen grandchildren, Mike Kipper, Corey Matthews (special friend Erin), Anthony Ikemeier (Amy), Jeffery Ikemeier, Jennefer Marler (Chad), Cinthia Harbison (Keith), Steven Smith (fiance Holly), Brian Smith (special friend Erin), Ashley Ikemeier, Katie Ikemeier, Rebecca Ikemeier, Chase Sheldon and Madison Ikemeier, and seven great-grandchildren, Carson Matthews, Alyssa Ikemeier, Alex Ikemeier, Cailin Ikemeier, Whitney Marler, Hayden Todd and Jenna Ikemeier. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2011. Private interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
