Gerald A. Phelps

PARK HILLS Gerald"Jerry" Alan Phelps of Park Hills was born on March 2, 1979, at Farmington, Missouri and passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Jerry grew up in Ironton and graduated from Arcadia Valley High School and later moved to the Parkland area where he was employed by Nelson Tree Service as a sub-contractor for Ameren UE. He was a member of Farmington B.P.O. Elks Lodge # 1765. In his spare time Jerry enjoyed bowling and golf but his passion was for softball and he played in numerous leagues in the Parkland area and throughout the United States.

Jerry will be missed by all those who knew and loved him, but particularly by his wife, Heather S. (Brown) Phelps and their two children Lilly and Boston of Park Hills, his parents, Jim and Sherian (Lloyd) Phelps of Ironton, three brothers, Harry (& Tammy) Phelps of Granite City, Illinois, Jimmy Phelps and Tommy Phelps both of Park Hills, his mother-in-law Kelli (& Kenny) Hudson, two sister-in-laws, Ashley (& Jeremy) Evans and Jessica (& Josh) Coppaway all of Perryville, and a dear aunt and uncle, Sue and Mac McClimans of St. Louis. Survivors also include other aunts, uncles, cousins, and several nieces and nephews as well as a multitude of dear friends.

Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 7th. Visitation will resume after 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 8th until service time at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with the Reverend Josh Wilson officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home. Interment will be conducted privately by the family at a later date. In lieu of plants or floral tributes the family would greatly prefer memorials be made to the Barnes-Jewish Siteman Cancer Center Leukemia Research Fund.
