FARMINGTON George H. Jauernig Sr., of Ste. Genevieve, entered into eternal rest on June 23, 2021, at Camelot Nursing Center at the age of 83. He was born on October 28, 1937, in St. Louis, Missouri to the late George and Florence (Shader) Jauernig. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters, Jenny Lynn Jauernig and Kimberley Jane Jauernig, his grandson, Brian Evan Modzelewski, and his siblings, Pat Roberts, Betty Lack, Cecelia Ortega, Fred Jauernig, and Donald Jauernig. George was a member of Solid Rock Family Church of Farmington. He was a devout Christian and loved worship, praise and singing the gospel. He was a devoted and loving husband who adored his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was known as a giving person who enjoyed helping others. George was a self- employed auto mechanic and his passion was building cars. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. George is survived by his wife of 64 years, Laverne (Dungan) Jauernig of Farmington, his son, George H. Jauernig Jr. of Arnold, his grandchildren, Chad (Brittany) Jauernig, Lauren (Joe) Asaro, and Jesse (Ahnah) Jauernig, his great grandchildren, Joey, Brooklyn, Greg, Magnus, Freyja, and Kian, his siblings, Jim Jauernig of Desloge and Grace Jinkerson of St. Louis, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. A joint memorial service will be held at Solid Rock Family Church, 126 Holly Tree Lane, Farmington, on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 1:00pm for George and his daughter, Kimberley, who passed away August 16, 2020.
