FREDERICKTOWN George Franklin Wilson Jr., of Fredericktown, entered into eternal rest on February 21, 2023, at Parkland Health Center at the age of 80. He was born on January 27, 1943, in Steele, Missouri, to the late George Franklin Wilson Sr. and Vivian (McClure) Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Barron and his brother, Dale Wilson. George is survived by his wife of 35 years, Janet (Shumake) Wilson, his children, Frankie Wilson, Ginger Wilson, Peggy (Frank) Vogler, and Stephanie (Lynn) Kindle, his grandchildren, Frank, Leighann, Jon, P.J. (Sarah), Kyle (Jennifer), Alex (Clay), Noah, Cyrus, Peyton, and Chance, several great grandchildren, a sister, his son-in-law, Andy Barron, his special friend, Fred Vincent, along with many other family members and friends. George proudly served his country as a United States Army veteran. He retired in 1997 after 30 years of employment as an operational engineer for General Motors. He was a member of UAW Local 2250. He was a collector of trains and enjoyed deer hunting, watching westerns, and Harley Davidsons. George will be remembered for being a generous man who was always helping others in any way he could and for always having a "clean hankie" for anyone who needed it.
