Genevieve Austin

FARMINGTON - Genevieve I. Resinger Austin of Farmington passed away June 9, 2022 at Southbrook Skilled Nursing Center at the age of 91. She was born August 26, 1930 to the late Clell Kennon and Rebecca (Canter) Kennon. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, David W. Resinger; a brother, Clell Kennon, Jr. and sisters, Lyndola Edmond and Ruth Ann Payne. Genevieve was a busy mother of nine children and she worked hard raising them. Every summer she grew a garden and it was not unusual for her to put up 4000 quarts of produce. She was an excellent cook whose pies were like no other. The daughter of a Baptist minister, Genevieve was outgoing and loved to talk and joke with people. She loved being a home body and if she left home for any time, she was anxious to return. She loved listening to gospel music and playing bingo. If you ran into to Genevieve and asked her how she was, she would always smile and say "fine and dandy". Survivors include her children, Dale (Linda S.) Resinger, Vicki (Dennis) Whitaker, Kathy Worley, Donna Boyer, John (Linda T.) Resinger, Richard (Carolyn) Resinger, Connie (Tim) Rowe and Nancy Klingelberg; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a sister, Berniece Jacks; a host of niece, nephews, cousins and good friends.
