Gayle Archambo

Zoa Gayle Archambo of Farmington passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2008 in Farmington at the age of 81 years. She was born on June 12, 1926, in Glen Allen, MO, to Henry and Martha (Johnson) Whitener, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sisters and brothers, Golda Shell, David Whitener, Rafe Whitener, Fern Whitener and Dale Whitener, and by her beloved daughter, Sharon Lashley. Mrs. Archambo was an active member of First Baptist Church of Farmington and for several years served as director of the Farmington Ministerial Alliance Thrift Store. She was a wonderful seamstress and for a number of years provided childcare in her home. She is survived by her husband of forty years, John Bill Archambo of Farmington and her children, Terry and Cathy Hawn of Farmington, Dale Hawn and John Garcia of Houston, TX, George and Kathy Hawn of Fredericktown and Susan Evans of Farmington. She is also survived by one son-in-law, Basil Lashley of Kimberling City, MO, two step-daughters, Debbie and Tom Trueman of Farmington and Dee and Rob Gordon of Park Hills, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. In celebration of her life, visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel in Farmington, and from 7 to 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Farmington with Dr. William C. Miller and the Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery in Farmington. Memorials may be made to the Farmington Ministerial Alliance or to Southbrook Skilled Nursing Center in Farmington.
