Gary Ray Otto

BONNE TERRE - Gary Ray "Otter" Otto passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at the age of 59. He was born on May 24, 1953, at Clinton, IA, son of Marvin Henry and Marilyn Elaine (Nielsen) Otto who survive. He grew up in the state of Iowa where he graduated from Dewitt High School. Immediately after graduation he began working for Chicago Northwestern Railroad. Later his railroad career took him to Missouri where he worked for Union Pacific until his retirement in 2010. "Otter" as most will remember Gary enjoyed riding motorcycles, woodworking, fishing and camping. Gary was a giving person who will be thought of as a gentle giant by those who knew him and ultimately he gave the gift of life as an organ donor. In addition to his parents survivors include his loving companion, Kitrena Wibbenmeyer; his twin brother, Terry J. Otto; his other siblings, Donald R. Otto and Julie A. Dilling; his God child and niece, Stephanie and four nieces, Jessica, Jennifer, Rachel and Johanna. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
