Gary Allen Reeves

FARMINGTON - Gary Allen Reeves passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the age of 42. He was born November 24, 1969, at Farmington, son of Cecil F. and Shirley F. (Dean) Reeves. Gary was a 1988 graduate of Farmington High School, and a 1993 graduate of the University of Missouri at Columbia, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. He also served in the Army Reserves during Operation Desert Storm. He was employed as a Registered Nurse at the Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center in Farmington. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, tending his Koi pond, and spending time with Abigail, his beloved dog and companion. He also was an avid environmentalist, always looking to improve our environment though recycling and other various environmental causes. Gary will be missed by all those who knew and loved him, including his parents, Cecil and Shirley Reeves of Farmington, brother, Richard Reeves of Doe Run, two sisters, Cathy Coleman of Doe Run, and Lisa Leigh and husband Tommy of Farmington, four nieces, Meagan and Morgan Clifton, Trisha Zieglemeyer, and Tiffany Leigh, and a great-niece and a great-nephew, Gracie and Garret. The family will receive friends at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 from 5 until 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday at 7 a.m. until the funeral service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery at Des Arc. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Farmington Pet Adoption Center.
