Freda Salena Lamb-Kimmell

FARMINGTON - Freda Salena Lamb-Kimmell formerly of Fredericktown and Ironton, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Community Nursing Home in Farmington having attained the age of 100 years, 6 months, and 28 days. She was born January 25, 1914 at Roselle, daughter of the late Thomas and Ada (Tesreau) Keathley. On December 10, 1932 she was united in marriage to Henry Lamb. He preceded her in death on December 10, 1968. She was also preceded in death by her second husband Robert Kimmell, a daughter Linda Joan Miller, two sisters, Vera Trolinger and Nola Ivester, and a daughter-in-law Mary Lamb. Freda was a life-long member of the Bethel United Baptist Church of Fredericktown where she faithfully sang in both the choir and in gospel quartets. Freda was retired from the Brown Shoe Company of Ironton where she had been employed for 20 years. Her hobbies included quilting and sewing. She was well known for her baked goods (especially her yeast rolls and doughnuts). She was a great caretaker to her many dear friends and family members in their time of need. She will me missed by all those who knew and loved her including her two sons Lloyd Lamb of Farmington and Ivan ( & Helen) Lamb of Farmington, seven grandchildren; Susan ( & Scott) Hedgcorth of Desloge, Michael ( & Lori) Lamb of Farmington, Pamela ( & Mitchell) Richmond of Ballwin, Karla ( & Mark) Wilson of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Scott ( & Tara) Lamb of Ironton, David ( & Sandy) Miller of Branson, and Tammy ( & Patrick) Murphy of Ballwin. Freda is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren; Megan ( & Jerrod) Ragsdale, Molly Hedgcorth. Ian Lamb, Eli Lamb, Evan Burke, Alec Burke, Abigail Richmond, Logan Wilson, Grant Wilson, Katelynn Lamb, Jackson Lamb, Justin Miller, Allison Miller, Roger (& Kelly) Eaton, and Jonathan Murphy. Freda was also blessed with two great-great-grandchildren Layne Eaton and Tycen Eaton as well as numerous nieces, nephews and good friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2014 at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory. Visitation will resume on Tuesday morning from 7 a.m to 10 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Pastor Bob Graham officiating. Interment will be in the Sebastian Cemetery at Fredericktown. Memorials may be made to either the American Cancer Society, Bethel United Baptist Church, or Preferred Hospice of Farmington.
