Fred Arning

Fred Dewain Arning of Farmington departed this life Thursday January 14, 2010, at St. Francois Manor, at the age of 73 years, 11 months, and 5 days. He was born on February 9, 1936, at Centralia, IL, son of the late Theodore and Alvie (Claybourne) Arning. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two half-brothers, Charles and Virgil Chapman. Mr. Arning was a self-employed Painter in the Parkland area for many years. He was a long-time member of the First Assembly of God Church of Farmington. Fred was an avid racing fan. He proudly served his country in the Missouri National Guard for 10 years. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him including his wife of 39 years, Joan (Hagood) Arning of Farmington; two daughters, Marcia Price of Farmington and Diane (Mrs. Real) Cook of Atoka, TN; two brothers, William Bill Arning of Arnold and Richard (Margie) Arning of Farmington; five grandchildren, Ryan Price, Bethany Price, Cheyanne Cook, Logan Cook, and ReAnne Cook; a sister-in-law, Joyce Haynie, as well as other relatives and acquaintances. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2010. Visitation will resume on Sunday at 12 noon, with funeral services at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor C. Kevin Davis officiating, assisted by Associate Pastor Joseph Kochis. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery.
