Frank Straughan

Franklin Elliott Straughan of Farmington passed away on Friday, March 6, 2009 at St. Louis University Hospital at the age of 74 years. He was born on February 3, 1935, in Farmington, the son of the late Faye Elizabeth (Manning) and Elliott Hicks Straughan. Mr. Straughan was a member of the Farmington Elks Lodge 1765. Frank was a cattle farmer in the Farmington area for many years. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Joey (Weller) Straughan, two sons, Bill Straughan (Michelle) of California, Michael Elliott Straughan of Farmington, two daughters, Ellen Lee (Clay) of Texas, and Martha Hull (Randy) of Wisconsin, a sister, Dolores Reason of St. Louis, a brother, Russell Straughan (Terry) of Farmington, twelve grandchildren, Scott Brown, Jayme Sadlier, Karrie Straughan, Tiffany Embree, Kristen Wallis, Emily Straughan, Sarah Hull, Ryan Hull, Brittany Straughan, Steven Straughan, Andrew Straughan and Hannah Straughan, five great-grandchildren, and four step-children, Teena "Billie" Mann, Todd Parker, Scott Parker and Sharon Banda. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive. The family will receive friends at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 4 to 9 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2009. Visitation will resume at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, with a funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Cozean Chapel. Burial will be at Zolman Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks Lodge 1765 of Farmington.
