FARMINGTON - Francis Julian Redmond, of Farmington, Missouri, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024, at Ashbrook Senior Living in Farmington at the age of 91. He was born on June 1, 1933, in Farmington, to the late Harry B. Redmond and Alice E. (Alvey) Redmond.
Francis is survived by his siblings, Tommy Redmond, Dorothy Regier, and Margaret Cook (Bill Peters); and his niece and caregiver, Bennie Redmond. His legacy is also etched in the hearts of his nieces, nephews, and special friends, whose lives are richer for having known him.
Francis was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Alice Redmond; and his siblings, Eugene Redmond, Martin Redmond, Marie Nelson, Gladys Gegg, Lucille Richards, Pauline Wampler, Bernard Redmond, Lawrence Redmond, and Harry Edward Redmond.
Francis worked as an assembly worker in an ink manufacturing company in St. Louis for several years. He then went on to traverse the country as an over-the-road truck driver for several more years. Francis also displayed a heartwarming commitment to his family when he spent a few years in Ohio as a caregiver to his aunt.
Francis was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Park Hills, although his attendance waned after the passing of his sister, with whom he attended church, his faith remained strong. He enjoyed mowing grass, playing on his computer, capturing life through photography, or delivering a perfectly timed joke. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
