Francis Figge

Francis F. Figge of Farmington passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2010, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, at the age of 72 years, 8 months, and 3 days. He was born on April 16, 1938, at River Aux Vasses, the son of the late Henry B. and Sophie T. (Schubert) Figge. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Henry "Hiney" Figge. A longtime resident of Ste. Genevieve, Francis worked for many years in the Ste. Genevieve public schools in maintenance. After retiring in 1994 he moved to Farmington where he enjoyed being active with the Knights of Columbus where he was a 4th Degree Knight. He was also an antique car enthusiast and belonged to the Foothills Antique Car Club. In his spare time he was known to enjoy collecting antiques. His most favorite pastime was spending time with his kids and grandkids who will remember him for his big heart and his generosity. Survivors include his three children, Diane (Mrs. Wayne) Linnenbringer, Tina Persons and Kenny Figge; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Kelly and Holly Linnenbringer; Zachary and Elizabeth Persons; and Luke and Emma Figge, all of Farmington; his brother, Harry Figge and his wife Marilyn and his sister, Theresa (Mrs. Edgar) Klein all of Ste. Genevieve. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews and good friends. A visitation will be held Tuesday at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 4 to 9 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 am at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Ricky Valleroy officiating. Interment will be at New Calvary Cemetery in Farmington.
