Marsdena Frances McKay Corben of Farmington passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Southbrook Nursing Center at the age of 90 years. She was born on April 1, 1923, in Wrightsville, Arkansas, daughter of the late Oliver McKay and Esther Galloway (Lippeatt) McKay. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, June Arnold Corben and one sister. "Frances", as most knew her, worked for the Finance and Accounting Department at Fort Leonard Wood for over 15 years. In 1977 she resigned from that position and she and June spent the next 18 years traveling the United States and Canada before settling in Farmington in 1995. She was a 60-year plus member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Muskogee, Oklahoma and a member of the First Christian Church of Rolla, Missouri. Survivors include two daughters, Dena Walker of Rolla, MO and Lynn Crites and husband Dale of Farmington; six grandchildren, Elizabeth (Mrs. Mike) Hall, Mark Allsman, and Jackie Asberry, all of Rolla, MO and Bill Walker of Kirkwood, MO, Jeff Crites and wife, Crissy and Jason Crites and wife, Erin, all of Farmington; 15 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is a special niece, Ila R. Johnson of Quincy, IL. A memorial service will be held at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Friday, July 12 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Rocky Good officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis at 1:15 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital.
